Desert Cottontail

We almost always have a few desert cottontails on our property. They are most numerous in the summer with young ones appearing in the early spring to mid-summer. In the fall and winter the coyotes thin the population but somehow a few survive and will be there in the spring to entertain us. They can become almost tame. I think they realize they are safe from predators when they are around us. They learn that we are not going to bother them.
