Snow Geese by the thousands visit Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge every winter. Usually they remain together in large flocks for all activities. However, one very cold morning I found this pair along one of the irrigation canals resting in the early morning light. They really didn’t want to be bothered and certainly didn’t want to move. I was able to get the picture and not disturb them. I converted the original to black and white because it helped reduce the clutter and distraction of the background. This picture was also one of two that were my first to be sold by a gallery.
