Three Acorn Woodpeckers

This was a lucky shot. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. I had been photographing Acorn Woodpeckers earlier that day and was following them around. They didn’t seem to be too concerned but were flying from tree to tree. I knew there were two in the area, a mature pair. What I didn’t know was that there was a young also in the area. In the wash behind where I was setup and getting ready for lunch, I noticed all three birds land on the remains of a failed burnt out oak tree. I had to remove some sticks from in front of them but I am happy with the result.
